At 6CProto, we provide several types of prototypes to support every stage of product development — from early concept validation to pre-production testing. Each prototype serves a unique purpose in the design and engineering process.
1. Concept Model:
A simplified prototype used to communicate the initial idea or design concept. It’s typically for internal use and may undergo multiple revisions during early-stage design reviews.
2. Display Prototype (Looks-like Prototype):
Focused on visual appearance, this type closely resembles the final product in shape, color, and finish, but may not be functional. It’s ideal for presentations, exhibitions, or marketing demonstrations.
3. Functional Prototype:
Built to operate like the final product, this prototype is used to evaluate mechanical performance, fit, and functionality. It plays a critical role in engineering validation and design refinement.
4. Pre-production Prototype (Factory Sample):
The last stage before mass production. This prototype verifies manufacturability, assembly, and product performance under production conditions to ensure smooth transition to full-scale manufacturing.
